Stacked Tables
I first got the idea to draw some tables in various positions during the clean-up of a special party on a Greek island in the Aegean Sea. The day after, on a very warm and sunny morning, a lot of tables had to be moved from the square where the feast was held back to their storage place. Friends got together to carry the tables in rows from the village square to the community house.
It was like a giant moving caterpillar of tables going up and down the stairs through the village. Once they arrived at the storage, they were placed against the wall, next to each other, and stacked.
The idea of the tables has since evolved from that initial impression, but I still like to return to it and think about it.
